The University of West London required the construction of new music and dance studio facilities. In order to provide these facilities, Storm carried out the conversion of an existing classroom block. The works included new ceilings, lighting, and flooring as well as associated electrical upgrades.
As well as soundproofing for the music studio a fundamental part of this project was the construction of a sprung floor for the dance studio facility to ensure the health and safety for dancers, as it greatly reduces the risk of injury to dancers by providing shock absorbent flooring.
A further specialist requirement for this project was the provision of a ‘’green wall’ within the dance studio in order to facilitate Chroma-key compositing, a visual effects technique used during filming to insert filmed background footage or static images into the scene.
