Regent’s University of London required renovations and upgrades to its Counselling and Therapy Centre in their Darwin Building.
The upgrade and renovations included new lighting, flooring and ceiling installations. The project also involved the replacement of doors, decorations and finishes. In addition to the aforementioned works, the Darwin building also required soundproofing works to its first floor.
An initial difficulty with the project was that the buildings were fully occupied during the works and in turn the corridors needed to be fully accessible at all times. This issue was quickly overcome by completing all works during out-of-hours times, predominantly working throughout the night and ensuring the site was entirely cleaned up by the morning before the students arrived for the first lectures.
Careful and close liaison with the college was necessary to ensure that there was minimal disruption and that the quick turnaround required by this project was achieved.
