Brunel University required an upgrade and refurbishment of its existing laboratory workshops located in the university’s Engineering Complex Tower B.
In order to accomplish this, the existing laboratory workshops were stripped out, with the benching and worktops being carefully removed and sent to a specialist in order to be renovated. The existing floors were stripped back and laboriously prepared so that a bespoke industrial standard chemical resistant coating could be applied. Upgrades to both the communication and electrical power systems were accompanied by the provision of a new flooring containment and AV containment.
New decorations and finishes were provided before the refurbished benches, cupboards and worktops were re-installed. All works to this tight programme were completed whilst the building was occupied with minimal disruption to students and staff.
