Description:
The project involved the refurbishment of Norbury Ward a medium secure 13-bed inpatient psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) on the ground floor River House at the Bethlem Royal Hospital. The work involved the refurbishment and remodelling of the staff areas and improved means of escape for patients and staff in emergencies as well as demolish and remodelling of the existing 4 seclusion rooms to make them fit for purpose. As well as decoration throughout and new bedroom furniture significant mechanical and electrical alterations were required in the general ward and a new installation to the seclusion suite and staff areas.
