This project involved the refurbishment of existing clinical coding rooms, demolition of existing extension and erection of new extension to create Admissions on the Day Unit (AOTD) to support elective recovery. Located next to the theatres, the AOTD enables patients to arrive at the unit on the morning of their surgery and to move quickly into theatres, for their procedure.

  • Demolition
  • Excavation to reduce levels
  • Piling and concrete slab
  • Structural steel frame

  • Sedum Roofing
  • New partitioning and suspended ceilings

Testimonials

Storm have helped the Trust to develop a bespoke Admissions on the Day Unit within Esher Wing, the team have been very flexible and responsive through the challenges of Covid, and we have been able to deliver a high-quality refurbishment 4 weeks ahead of plan.

Angela Clarke,
Associate Director Capital Development

This new unit will provide a much more efficient way for us to manage elective care. Patients coming in for planned procedures will be able to stay in one place, as opposed to being on wards across the hospital, and will benefit from a significantly smoother and quicker pathway, from arrival for their surgery through to having their procedure.

Chief of Surgery and Planned Care
